Academy Hair & Beauty | Blackburn College

At Blackburn College, we have our very own commercial Academy Hair & Beauty Studio, including:

  • Four Hairdressing Salons
  • Spa Facilities
  • Specialist Barbering Salon
  • Nail Room
  • Four Beauty Therapy Studios
  • Media Makeup Studio

The facilities are equipped to the highest standard and all sessions are supervised by very experienced and highly qualified staff. The Salons are run so as to enable students to experience a real working environment and develop their skills like they would in the industry.

Opening Times (Term Time)
Monday to Thursday, 9.00am – 9.00pm
Friday, 9.00am – 4.00pm
Saturday, 9.00am - 1.00pm (Beauty only)

The main reception and salons are located on the ground floor of the New Victoria Centre (opposite Feilden Street Car Park and Reidy's Music Store)

FE Students! Don’t forget to apply for your Support Allowance. 

Funds are limited so please get your applications in quickly.

If you are 16-18 you can get up to £150

If you are 19+ you can get up to £500

If you need help applying you can make an appointment to see an advisor at one of the drop in sessions held every day at The Hub, 11am – 12.45pm.

Please note that payments of all Student Bursaries have been made into bank accounts since the end of the autumn term.

    Success for the Sliding Doors Project - Thankyou to everyone who voted

    Just to let you know that Sliding Doors were successful with the recent vote.

    They will be bringing £49,700 to Blackburn to help put on social activities for isolated older people and people with learning disabilities/physical disabilities.

    Extended UC Library Opening Times

    Feedback from UCBC students has been for extended Library opening hours during the HE exam period, in response to this the Library Service is very happy to announce we are trialling extended Friday and Saturday term time opening hours during exams from week beginning 1st May to week ending Saturday 10th June 2017.

    Teenage Market is launching in Blackburn Town Centre as part of the Festival of Making. If you're a maker, this is a great opportunity for you to sell your products.

    There is the opportunity for 20 traders to take part over two festival days in May. Insurance will be covered for all traders taking part.
