Are you feeling inspired by our Graduates who celebrated their achievements at the recent Graduation Ceremony?

 

Now is the time to explore what university options are available to you and to show you what studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College is really like.

 

Join us on board our University Centre bus to explore what university options are available to you and to show you what studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College is really like.  The progression activities are on Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October 2018.

Things you can do

·         Take part in engaging activities

·         Learn what studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College is really like

 

There are a variety of fantastic sessions to get involved with including;

 

Business – Who is and what makes an entrepreneur? You can find out in this workshop.

Creative Arts – Meet current University Centre at Blackburn College Creative Arts Students, enjoy a tour of the facilities and find out about the different careers in Art and Design.

Sport – Meet our Sports Scientists and explore the performance lab and its state of the art equipment.  Try out the Sports Code software to design your own match analysis.

Community and Care – Explore what careers are available in the four areas of Social Care, Public Services, Uniformed Services and Working with Children and Young People.

Criminology – Find out about the triad of Criminology which include tips, tricks and tools for effective undergraduate learning.

Engineering – Explore the miniature railway by taking a ride and learn about the Physics and Engineering involved in making the railway, explore how vacuums work and have a go with the Vacuum Canon – will you be able to hit the targets?, take part in the Pneumatics activity and find out more about the Physics of the mechanical properties of gases and take part in the Electronics activity to find out about our Electrical and Electronic Engineering courses.

Construction – Join us for a guest speaker seminar by Stephen Greenhalgh.  Stephen will talk about his journey from Level 3 Construction at Blackburn College to the University Centre and his exciting career at CAPITA!  You will also get the chance to experience a Business Information Modelling (BIM) Session – a key employability skill for the Construction industry.

Accounting and Finance – Do you know where your tax goes?  Join this workshop to find out and discover more about the Accounting and Finance courses available at the University Centre at Blackburn College.

Law – Join our workshop about sentencing and find out about our qualifying Law degree at the same time!

Health and Complementary Therapies – Join us for sessions which will include Sports Massage, Aromatherapy and explore the Complementary Therapies programme in detail. There are some exciting quizzes too which include fantastic spot prizes!

Disability Studies – Join our debate on Disability and the media.  Featuring a 15 minute clip from The Greatest Showman followed by discussion.

Psychology – Learn what an electroencephalogram is and have a go using ours!  You will be able to see how you brain uses electrical activity!

Humanities, English and Joint Honours – Enjoy our presentation ‘Studying Humanities at The University Centre at Blackburn College’ and meet current students followed by a Q&A.
