Bursary Payments – for full-time University Centre at Blackburn College students
You will be aware that we currently offer a £500 bonus/bursary for all full-time Higher Education students paying fees of £7,500 or over per annum. You will also be aware that this bursary is paid in two instalments, and that the second payment is made in June.
Attendance in classes was previously a large determining factor in the payment of this bursary to students. Clearly, in this time of home and online learning we have not been able to use classroom attendance to determine the bursary payments.
Instead, for this academic year only, bursary payments have been determined by your engagement with your course online - and by your submission of assignments and coursework. As previously communicated, you needed to submit all of your assignments in order to be eligible for the bursary. This replaces the previous attendance criteria.
The University Centre and College have been working hard to agree bursary payments for students under unprecedented circumstances, owing to the Coronavirus. We have had to examine every student’s case in detail in terms of their engagement with study. We have today been finalising the bursaries and authorising the payments. If you qualify for the bursary you should receive the funds within the coming week.
